FSSA Updated State Plan Amendment

FSSA Amendment

FSSA has proposed an amendment to its ABA therapy coverage, set to take effect on April 1, 2025. The amendment introduces limitations on weekly therapy hours based on the individual’s ASD level at the time of diagnosis. Additionally, while the three-year coverage limitation will remain in place, it will not be applied retroactively. Instead, the three-year cap will begin on the proposed effective date of April 1, 2025.

We appreciate that FSSA is not retroactively applying this limitation to individuals currently receiving services. However, this is not a win for individuals diagnosed with ASD. Imposing a three-year cap on services will be detrimental to those who rely on ABA therapy for ongoing support and progress.

We will continue to advocate for our clients, their families, and all individuals diagnosed with autism. For more details on the exact amendment proposal, please click here.
